The September-October issue of the Angelus Press magazine is dedicated to “Digital Dependence”. Our twenty-first century appears to be more and more an age of “digital dependence”.

Poor Joe has been having a hard time recently.  Unfortunately, he was a bit hard up for cash and he fell into his old habit of stealing.  It was always quite a problem for him – for some reason he was attracted to it.

In Chapter 18th of the Gospel according to St. Matthew, Our Lord warns us against the world and its scandals.  “Woe to the world because of scandals.”[1]

Last month, Pope Francis made a change to the Catechism of the Catholic Church in which he decided that the Death Penalty was intrinsically evil.  Is the Death penalty now evil?  Does the Pope have the power to make such changes?  Let us distinguish between different types of laws: the natural law, the divine law and human law. 

From July 11-21, forty-one major superiors and “ancients” members of the Society of St. Pius X met at the Motherhouse of the SSPX, the Seminary of Ecône, Switzerland, for the General Chapter of the SSPX. Then, on July 11, it was made public that Most Rev. Fr. Davide Pagliarani had been elected as new Superior General of the Society, and that he will be assisted by Bp. Alfonso de Galarreta and Fr. Christian Bouchacourt, respectively as 1st and 2nd Assistants.  After the election of the new Superior General, the General Chapter carried on till July 21 to discuss the workings of the Society.

Traditionally, the Month of June is the Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  It is also the time of the priestly ordinations in the seminaries of the Society of St. Pius X of Dillwyn, USA, and Ecône, Switzerland.  On these occasions, let me invite you to meditate on the great connection between the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the priesthood.

After crossing the Red Sea dry foot, the Israelites had to face many trials before reaching the Promised Land. The enemies were both within and without: the seditious, the cowards who pined for the onions of Egypt left behind, and the many tribes who feared the chosen people and blocked their way.

During the Easter season, as we contemplate the figure of Our Lord risen from the dead, let us focus on the title of Good Shepherd, one of His most famous titles. We are familiar with the expressions as “The Lord is my Shepherd” or “Jesus as The Good Shepherd”, by which Christians express their personal attachment to the person of Our Lord. But there is a need to sort out a few things, in order to recognize the true meaning of the title of Our Lord as the Good Shepherd in a Catholic fashion, that is to say in a traditional Catholic way.

In March 2013, on the Feast of St. Joseph, the Society of Saint Pius X was consecrated to St. Joseph. Why?
